Det var ogso i dette huset -heimen til Frida og Olav Rusti- at den fyrste kappleiken vart halden. Journalist og heiderslagsmann Ludv. Jerdal tala um Frida og Olav Rusti, Landskappleiken i 1896 og um huset Urdi og atterreisingi av dette. Øivind Vabø spela hardingfela på ein meisterleg måte, og me hygde oss storleg.</ins></div></td></tr>

Under den hyggjelege bordseta bar formannen fram helsingar frå heiderslagsmannen Ivar Kleiva og kona, og las upp tvo dikt som hadde sendt til laget. Like eins bar han fram helsing frå Kristoffer Kvamme, som hev vore sjuk sidan sumarferien. prost og heiderslagsmann Alv Askeland takka for maten i vare og fine ordelag.</ins></div></td></tr>

Prost og heiderslagsmann Eigil Lehmann som fylte 90 år den 29. s.m. vart hylla med talar, song og dikt. Ludv. Jerdal heldt festtalen, Nils Haukås hadde skrive både fyremæle og song til juilanten, og denne vart sungen tvo gonger. Elles var det mange som helsa jubilanten med vakre ord. Det var Jarle Bondevik, Alv Askeland, Stein Eirik Foss, Jon Askeland, og til sist Ingi Toftatun, som bar helsingi fram på færøymål.</ins></div></td></tr>

Her gjorde fleire av våre folk ein stor innstats, og me takkar serleg Ludv. Jerdal, og dei som var med i hovudnemndi  av våre folk, Finn Vabø og Lars Bjarne Marøy og Ellen Vabø. På kulturkvelden um laurdagen fekk Ludv. Jerdal ei utmerking og gåva, og fru Jerdal fekk ein blomebundel.</ins></div></td></tr>
